You’re not tired? Yeah YOU! When you have a problem, who do you call? You. When work is getting difficult, who do you lean on? You. If an unexpected bill or expense arises, who takes care of it? You. So again—you’re not tired? I get it—you’re used to living a life where you look out for yourself and I’m sure your reasoning sounds like this: if you want to avoid disappointment, you do it yourself; if you don’t want to be let down, you do it yourself; and if you want things done a certain way, you do it yourself. But wait, what happens when your health takes a hit because of how much you’re doing? What happens when you don’t have the strength to manage all the responsibilities you’re struggling to juggle? What happens when you’re feeling mentally drained? Well, you’ll only have one person to blame—YOU.

Courting Your Spec
So, you got someone you’re really interested in, and they have a lot of qualities that you believe will help a relationship to not only grow, but flourish. I presume this is someone you’ve been taking the time to talk to God about as well. If you have been taking the right steps to move intentionally in your dating journey, then I’m sure the next thing you’re thinking about is how to move towards an actual relationship. I want to note that there isn’t necessarily a timeframe between talking with someone initially and when a relationship should start; the key is how your time together is spent. At a certain point though, you will have to take the bold step to officially declare this person as your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Lord, Respectfully, What's Taking So Long?
Let me guess the process that led you here:
You had a desire for something — maybe a change in career, relationship status, family situation, financial circumstance — and prayed to God for it change
After praying, you waited and nothing happened
You prayed even more as time went on (more intensely than before)
You took it a step further and decided to fast on the matter to hear from God and see what’s causing the delay
And you still found yourself in the same circumstance
Sound about right?

Embrace God’s Best For You
We live in a time where we just never seem to be satisfied with where we are in life. If we aren't constantly comparing ourselves to other people, we are convincing ourselves that we aren't where we are "supposed" to be – which has never made sense to me because how does one even arrive at this conclusion? Is it because you aren't as successful as you thought you would be by this point in your life? Is it because you aren't generating as much income as you would have hoped? Is it because your day-to-day life doesn't seem social media worthy? Whatever your reason may be, you need to understand that you are on your specific path for a reason. There is a purpose God has for you, and only you can fulfill it if you stay the course.

Being Planted Longer Than You'd Like
I am currently in a phase of my life where I feel like I
have been placed in a particular situation and no matter how much I hope, pray,
or wish, I can’t get out of it. Are you facing a similar scenario? Do you feel like
you’re in a place where you want to move to something or somewhere different,
but can’t seem to do so? It took some time to realize, and it may be hard to
believe, but that’s actually a good thing. It means you’ve been planted in a
place that is meant to help you grow in some way.

It Always Seems Impossible Until It’s Done
One of the easiest decisions a person can make is to give up
in face of adversity. But that’s the problem- it’s the easy way out. I know
it’s difficult to face challenges that seem impossible to overcome, and
choosing to stop trying to beat them would save you a lot of time and stress.
But where would you be in life if you always threw in the towel and didn’t push
yourself to overcome adversity? You’d be stuck in the past because you only got
to where you are now by persevering against tough odds. We are meant to grow as
human beings and this is just one of the unfortunate steps along the way
because adversity is impossible to avoid. So are you going to secure the bag,
or fumble it?

Strong Faith in the Face of Adversity
I know its been a while since I last posted. If you lived my life in college you would know why. The workload, expectations, assignments, and responsibilities I've been given lately have taken majority of my time throughout the week. The one thing that has pushed me through all of these times besides the support of my family and friends, is the man upstairs. Through God all things are possible. In my weakest times, he's given me strength to pull through any circumstance and any situation. Now I know everyone in the world is not a believer, but these past few weeks have really given me reason to speak on this. If you're not a believer at least hear what I have to say. If you are a believer, let this be a reminder as to just how great a God we serve. I'll keep my post short and sweet today, and hopefully I get more time to post more things that relate to situations in your lives that you're going through, or bringing to your attention aspects of life you may not have thought about as much.

Set Up For Failure
I want to start by apologizing for the long wait for a new post. I recently started college, and it is definitely an eye opener. That is why I have not had much time to blog, but my experience in the short time I've been here has influenced my topic for today -are we set up for failure in the world? I want to address this issue to get people to think about the odds that are against them that they may not think about, and help them to think on how they can effectively and successfully overcome those obstacles.
